Lublin steps up in Poland's business services landscape
A diversified structure of business services centers, access to talent, and modern office space have helped Lublin attract business services investors as a strong alternative to Poland’s largest cities. The Association of Business Service Leaders (ABSL), recognizing the city’s growing importance, inaugurated the ABSL Chapter to create a platform for exchanging expertise among business, public administration, and academia.
For years, the business services sector has been a key driver of Poland's economic growth, enhancing the city's competitiveness through local labor market development, university partnerships, and innovation. According to the ABSL report “Business Services Sector in Poland 2025,” over 2,000 business services centers operate in Poland, employing nearly half a million specialists and contributing an estimated 5.7% to GDP. In Lublin, more than 80 centers employ approximately 10,400 people.
- We, at ABSL, actively support both the development of the business services sector and the cities themselves. Meetings within ABSL chapters provide an effective platform for planning further development and strengthening competitiveness. The presence of the business services sector brings high-quality jobs and stimulates city growth, says Janusz Dziurzyński, President of ABSL Poland.
Lublin – a growing business services hub in eastern Poland
According to the ABSL report “Business Services Sector in Poland 2025,” over half of the 10,400 employees in Lublin’s business services centers are IT specialists. Lublin’s academic base is a key strength, with nine higher education institutions serving about 58,000 students and nearly 1,000 doctoral candidates. Each year, more than 15,000 graduates complete their studies at local universities. Investors are drawn to Lublin for its highly qualified workforce in IT, analytics, finance, and languages, as well as competitive operating costs and modern office infrastructure. The city’s authorities are also recognized for their openness to collaboration with business and academia.
Lublin implements initiatives that foster a supportive ecosystem for residents, universities, and investors. Significant municipal investment, a consistent development strategy, and dedicated investor support create a stable and predictable business environment.
- Lublin is increasingly strengthening its position on Poland’s business services map. We attract investors by demonstrating the competencies of our residents, maintaining a strong academic base, and providing a stable environment for business growth. As a result, we create high-quality, specialist jobs and drive the dynamic development of the entire city. We want Lublin to become the natural choice for companies seeking talent, an innovative environment, and partnership-based cooperation with local government, emphasizes Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.
Lublin’s high quality of life was recognized in the 2026 Business Insider ranking, where the city placed third among the best cities to live in Poland. The ranking cited access to healthcare, safety, and air quality as key strengths.
Effective governance and the city authorities’ openness to dialogue with business and academia build Lublin’s credibility as a long-term partner for business services investors.
- The openness and pursuit of unity that define Lublin increase investor confidence and drive the stable development of the business services sector. As the city continues to build a culture of cooperation and prepares to be recognized as the European Capital of Culture in 2029, we embrace the inauguration of the ABSL Chapter as a breakthrough moment. With this platform, we aim to fully leverage the potential synergies between a mature business services sector, the creative environment of Lublin’s universities, and the partnership-based approach of the local administration. Our goal is to further develop this ecosystem so that Lublin strengthens its position as a key hub for processes requiring high-level expertise, innovation, and collaboration, adds Justyna Grzywaczewska, Senior Manager / Site Leader.
